Acne medications to cross off my list

What's on your list?

As the weeks go by and we try more acne medications, our list of what doesn't work grows longer.

After about 1-2 weeks of trying the Clinique 3-step system, we have determined that it has been unaffective at cleaning up existing acne.

The best treatment so far has been the natural approach with the tea tree oil application and the steam/castor oil treatment. This treatment does not clear up the acne, but it seems to slow it down at least a little bit.

We're off to the dermatologist next week. Hopefully he/she will have some good news/prognosis for the acne situation.

Until next time.......

Going to the dermatologist

Well, the time has finally come. After exhausting many different acne treatments available over the counter and even more natural treatments, we have resorted to scheduling an appointment at a dermatologist.

Hopefully the dermatolgist will have the answer to clear up the acne. Maybe it is just a simple cream or pill you must take. Whatever, I do hope that it is simple.

After reading about several lawsuits against Accutane and the bowel disease that it can cause, I hope that this doctor does not prescribe that!!

We will keep you posted as to what exactly takes place at the dermatologist. Maybe I will find out what he/she thinks causes acne.

Still trying acne treatments?

Acne treatments

After several months of trying various home remedies for acne, I have decided to try out the Clinique method. This is a 3 step program---very similar to many other popular treatments on the market today.

The first step is a foaming cleanser. The second step is a cream that you apply and the third step is the acne treatment cream.

The products can only be purchased from a department store, hence the high price.

I will post in several weeks as to the status of this treatment. Will it work? Or will it be just like all the other treatments I have tried?

Stay Tuned.
