Acne Products

Trying out new acne products can get a little expensive, even for over the counter products found at your local drugstore. There are also all the 3-step programs offered by various companies and sold online or at major department stores.

The best advice for selecting a product to try includes:

1. Try to determine what kind of acne that you have. Just a few pimples here and there will probably respond favorable to many over the counter products. If you have severe or cystic acne, you will need to try either prescription medications or natural methods. Most over the counter acne products will not work for cystic acne.

2. Keep a journal of what products you buy and the treatment plan you follow. Make a note of some of the active ingredients in the products. This will help you when you are going from a product that doesn't work to trying a new product. Chances are if the same active ingredients are in the new product, you will get the same poor results.

The truth is that there are many acne products that have been around forever, which means that they are working for someone out there. Why else would they be able to keep selling it?

It will take a lot of experimentation to find just the right product for your type of acne.
