Some products don't offer any help for treating acne, while others offer great benefits and even clear up acne.

The selection process of products, cleansers and treatments must consider the extent and amount of acne that you have and your skin type. Products are specifically formulated for different types of skin. For example, if you have oily skin, dry skin, normal skin- you will be able to find a corresponding product that is suited for your skin type.

If you have just a few pimples, then many of the over the counter creams and products might work for you. More serious acne calls for more serious treatment. Prescription medications can sometimes help out with acne, although many people do not get the results expected.

One type of cleanser that has worked for some is tea tree oil soap. This soap is available at organic stores or department stores. This type of soap can be a great cleanser for those with mild to moderate acne. Click here for a more natural acne treatment.

The Reality of Acne

Two realities about acne: it stinks and it will affect us several times during our lifetime.

Most teenagers suffer some form of acne- whether mild, moderate or severe, between the ages of 12-20. Many adults still experience acne problems throughout their 20's and 30's

The reality is that we need to address and treat acne so that it can minimized and eliminated. Some products will work if you have a mild case of acne. More serious cases of acne may require more extensive treatment, including diet changes and taking certain medications.

Our guest author below describes the details of a Chinese cure for acne. This may be something worth looking into.

The Asian Acne Alternative TreatmentBy Jason Cartwright
If you are probing for a normal but useful and safe acne alternative treatment, we advise you to believe what the Chinese have to recommend. We all accept that concerning a cure for just about whatever thing, the Chinese have beaten the market.

Chinese medications have been used for thousands of years and at present, are an admired selection for all sorts of sicknesses together with acne. Against westernized medicine, the Chinese think that a human being's blood has temperature and toxins that take part in the growth of acne.

For illustration, have you ever observed how acne looks to build up in the T zone on the face? The Chinese declare that this is due to the fact that this zone is the similar zone connecting to the tiny and huge intestine, plus the stomach. For this reason, the patient suffers from acne due to digestive difficulties, or getting in touch with chemicals.

You will observe that a Chinese acne cure home remedy also sustains appropriate diet, first-class hygiene, taking supplements, and then keeping the correct program. You ought to use extra virgin olive oil when cooking because saturated and incompletely hydrogenated fats are sources of tissue damage and redness in the body.

With a Chinese acne alternative treatment, it is also thought that eating non or low-fat dairy goods is a great deal better on the digestive system. You should keep away from anything, which is processed, which includes several of our much loved foods such as crackers, cookies, potato chips, and so forth. You ought to also enhance your diet with foodstuffs like flax seed and salmon, both rich in omega-3 fats.

Nevertheless, what you desire is to keep away from omega-6 fats. These would comprise materials such as soybean, corn, sunflower, and cottonseed oils, all oils that promote swelling. Aaron has achieved great results--as great as those who are on accutane--by using only natural methods to treat his acne.

His acne cure didn't happen overnight though. It took about 8 months for his acne to clear up. During those eight months he went thru 3 apple fasts, a complete diet change and added supplements to his diet.

If you are struggling with acne and have tried countless over the counter products and even prescription medication, rest assured that there is a natural cure waiting for you. (Accutane is an acne drug that cost tons of money and has many dangerous side effects0

Aaron methodically created his acne cure by changing up his diet completely and adding a few cleansing fasts to rid his body of excess bacteria.

Don't take our word for it though. Go check out Aaron's Acne Cure and see for yourself how the cure works. By the way it didn't cost much more than $50 for the total cure. Recently our editors received a question about Aarons Acne Cure.

Question: What exactly do you mean when you say you did the enema and what is the castor oil used for?

Answer: If you read the Acne Free in 3 days Ebook, it mentions that you are supposed to do an enema every night of the 3 day fast. This was the part of the 3-day apple fast that kept me from doing it months earlier. It just sounded gross.

After trying many other products and going to a dermatologist, I decided that I needed to do the 3 day apple fast- including the enema in that Ebook.

So, I did the enema each night of the 3 day apple fast. I actually did the 3 day apple fast 3 separate times (about 1 month apart) and did the enema every time. The enema helps clean your body of toxins that contribute to acne. It is a very necessary step of the apple fast. And it is not as bad as you would expect it to be.

I used the castor oil each night before going to bed--after doing a 20 minute steam on my face. I just heated up water in a bowl, wrapped a dry towel around my face and steamed my face. The castor oil is supposed to go on after the steam since this is when the pores are open.

But if you are going to really make an effort to get rid of your acne, it is imperative that you read the entire Ebook Acne Free in 3 Days and follow all the directions. We have mentioned some of the basic steps involved in the 3 day apple fast, but there are many other things that you need to do during the fast for your cure to work.

Does Chocolate Cause Acne?

When I was a teenager and dealing with milde to moderate acne, I remember hearing from everyone that chocolate caused acne. I wasn't a big chocolate eater, but I would skip it anyway, for fear of my acne getting worse.

As it turns out, chocolate doesn't cause acne at all. Actually it is sugar that causes acne. Of course chocolate does have sugar in it, so by default you could say it causes acne.

The reality of the facts point to the fact that an overall reduction in your sugar intake will help you to get rid of acne.

If you take a look at Aarons Acne Cure, you will see that he went military on his diet--removing everything that had any sugar in it. When you start looking very close at what you eat every day (read all those nutrition labels) you will be able to determine how much sugar you are eating.

Mild to moderate forms of acne may respond well to a reduction of sugar, while more severe cases of acne will require several months of sugar elimination to see any type of results.

In the end you have to be patient with severe acne. If you use all the right tools (visit Aaronsacne.com) and eat all the right things, your face will clear up on its own--without you having to spend hundreds of dollars on dermatologists or prescription medications.

Maintaining clear skin after curing acne

When you first start with getting rid of your acne, you may go through many products and dermatologists before you end up with a solution that works for your acne.

If you are like most acne sufferers, you will probably have a whole drawer full of acne products that didn't work. I really think that we should somehow recycle all of those products. Maybe somehow send those off to the next person for trial and error.

Small problems with acne can usually be fixed with over the counter products. Moderate to severe acne usually requires prescription medication or more aggressive treatments. If you don't make some major changes, you will have issues getting rid of acne.\

In AaronsAcne.com, Aaron describes how he took on his severe cystic acne and completely cured it using natural methods. Yes you read that right, no dermatologist office visits, no prescription medication or over the counter acne products, just all plain natural stuff. The biggest factor in getting rid of his severe acne was a diet change. You are what you eat is not just an expression.

Acne is caused by bacteria and sugar feeds bacteria. So if your diet consists of a lot of sugar, you are literally feeding your acne so it can stay around longer. This cure is not simple and does not happen overnight (as many over-the-counter acne treatments claim) It took time, patience and about 8 months to get rid of a very bad, cystic acne that was getting worse by the day.

The cure is spelled out in 6 steps and the whole process cost Aaron around $50 or so. He didn't need any expensive prescriptions from a dermatologist or any over-the-counter acne products or 3-step products. The cure is completely natural and involves making changes that effect the underlying cause of acne.

Don't take my word for it, see the photos. http://www.aaronsacne.com/

Acne Products

Trying out new acne products can get a little expensive, even for over the counter products found at your local drugstore. There are also all the 3-step programs offered by various companies and sold online or at major department stores.

The best advice for selecting a product to try includes:

1. Try to determine what kind of acne that you have. Just a few pimples here and there will probably respond favorable to many over the counter products. If you have severe or cystic acne, you will need to try either prescription medications or natural methods. Most over the counter acne products will not work for cystic acne.

2. Keep a journal of what products you buy and the treatment plan you follow. Make a note of some of the active ingredients in the products. This will help you when you are going from a product that doesn't work to trying a new product. Chances are if the same active ingredients are in the new product, you will get the same poor results.

The truth is that there are many acne products that have been around forever, which means that they are working for someone out there. Why else would they be able to keep selling it?

It will take a lot of experimentation to find just the right product for your type of acne.

Over the counter acne medications

There are so many different over the counter acne medications available today. Various creams, gels, ointments and 3-step programs pack the aisles at your local drugstore.

If you have just started to get acne, you may experience some success with over the counter medications. If your acne is persistant or more severe, you may not see any success with the drugstore medications.

Persistant acne sometimes requires drastic action, perhaps a diet and lifestyle change. There are some prescription medications that do work with acne, but you will need to see a dermatologist to get the prescription. Sometimes derms have a serious waiting time to get an appointment for the first visit.

The natural method, involving a diet and lifestyle change is absolutely possible and Aaron, from www.aaronsacne.com will show you exactly how he did it. He tackled a serious cystic acne problem with a diet change and is almost completely acne free today--about 6 months later. If you start reading the labels on a lot of the foods that you eat every day, you may be very surprised to find that there is a lot of sugar content in many foods.

The theory behind acne is that a bacteria of some sort causes it--mainly yeast. And sugar actually feeds yeast. So, every time that you eat more sugar you are feeding your acne. If you have an abundance of yeast in your body, it may take several months or more to get rid of the acne causing agent.

More drastic actions may be necessary initially. We tried the apple fast diet 3 separate times and followed up with all the necessary supplements daily. The acne is now under control.

Dealing with dry skin in winter months

Winter brings with it lower moisture and the inevetible dry skin. I notice almost instantly when the weather changes because my skin starts getting really dry.

There are 2 things that you can do to help with the dry skin when it does happen.

1. Use daily moisturizer. No matter what your skin type is, you can benefit from a moisturizer. If you visit your local drugstore and check out all the skin products, there is for sure a product that is designed for your particular type of skin. Experiment with the different daily moisturizers until you find one that works well with your skin and acne issues.

2. Drink lots of water. This usually goes without saying. But sometimes we need a little reminder. I personally have trouble drinking a lot of water in the winter because it makes me cold. I get cold very easily. And I will notice a difference almost immediately when I have not had enough water for the day.

These are just a few tips for trying to overcome dry skin in winter.

Diet and Acne

Diet is an integral part of your health. Your body fuels on what you put in it. Just like a car, if you put the wrong fuel in, the car will break down or simply not work right.

Acne can be linked directly to a diet packed full of sugar. Sometimes you may not even realize the amount of sugar you intake every day. If you start reading all the labels on the foods you eat, you will be greatly surprised.

So, if you want to get rid of your acne, the first step that you can take is to reduce the amount of sugar in your diet. And yeast is actually fed with sugar.

So if you reduce the sugar you put in your body, the acne will not have what it needs to grow.

If you have persistant or cystic acne, you will probably need more drastic actions such as a complete change in diet.

You can continue to buy acne products and solutions that adddress the appearance of acne, or you can address the underlying cause of acne and elminate it at its source.

Trying out skin peel product

We are about to try out a new product that is supposed to remove acne scars. Probably a tip off is that no acne products work.

Many dermatologists skip all the typical products and treatment for acne and go right to prescribing Accutane for their patients.

Until you get to the root cause of acne, treating the symptoms seems quite useless. Just like Accutane, as soon as you stop using the product or any other product, the acne just comes right back. And it usually comes back much worse than before.

Some researchers have concluded that it is the abundance of yeast in the body that is at the root cause of acne. Maybe teen agers, who are more susceptible to breakouts, have an overabundance of yeast in their body--could be related to all the hormone changes etc.

If you take anti-biotics for your acne, you will be killing the yeast/bacteria, but you will also be killing all the good bacteria in the body.

So, if drugs don't really cure acne, perhaps a complete change in diet along with some key supplements will help in the long run.

Acne medications to cross off my list

What's on your list?

As the weeks go by and we try more acne medications, our list of what doesn't work grows longer.

After about 1-2 weeks of trying the Clinique 3-step system, we have determined that it has been unaffective at cleaning up existing acne.

The best treatment so far has been the natural approach with the tea tree oil application and the steam/castor oil treatment. Some teenagers get just a few pimples here and there, some have moderate acne and then there are some with severe acne.

The question is, how do you get rid of the severe acne. Research on the topic leads me to believe that the underlying cause of acne can be different in each person.

Diet can be an important factor that contributes to any type of acne. Sugar is a known contributor to the development of acne. This is in addition to remembering advertisements for the various products in all the magazines.

I can recall quotes from satisfied consumers and the product company--for example, "my acne disappeared in 1 day" or "Drastic improvements in 1 day only"

I know for a fact that most of these products will not work or even come close to making true their claims. I have a bathroom full of these products, along with empty pockets from paying anywhere from $10-50 per product.

So where does that leave the consumer? Have you ever returned a product that didn't live up to the claims and guarantees? Probably not very many people actually return products. The companies probably count on most people not returning product.

So, stay tuned until we find the cure-all product for acne. If you do a little bit of research on acne you will discover that there are many different causes and triggers for acne. Research is ongoing and nothing is for certain, but a little bit of information can go a long way to help clear up acne.

The natural method involves many inexpensive over-the-counter products. Here is a list of several that are recommend. This info is use at your own risk. Always consult with your medical doctor before undertaking any new treatment method.

1. Tea Tree Oil. Make a mixture of 1 part tree tree oil to 10 parts water (you can experiment with the solution to get the right mix) and apply the solution to your acne 3 times a day. This mixture seems to do the same thing as many over the counter acne creams, except it doesn't dry the skin as much.

2. The castor oil method. Some dermatologists recommend this method. At night, heat up a medium size bowl of water and exposed your face to the steam for 10 minutes. Then apply castor oil to your acne before bed.

3. Taking supplements. Some acne research indicates that the cause of acne is a bacteria or yeast. Taking a garlic tablet and an acidopylus (sp?") supplement can help to cause the bacteria that may be causing acne.

Of course, results will vary with the natural treatments. Some people have results with the over the counter acne creams and ointments and some people have had results with the natural treatments.

The rule is, if what you are doing works to reduce or eliminate acne, then keep doing it!

Using tea tree for acne

Natural treatment for acne

After reading much about the advantages of tea tree oil, I decided to try it out on my son's acne. However, some will have scars that look significant even to others. The best approach is prevention and to treat acne right away as sometimes even mild acne can cause scarring, this can minimize the risk of permanent acne scars. Acnezine is the best possible way to treat acne scars. Acne leaves behind different types of acne scars.
Acne scars result from two types of tissue response to the inflammation of acne: (1) increased tissue formation, and (2) loss of tissue.

Increased Tissue FormationThe scars caused by increased tissue formation are called keloids or hypertrophic scars. The word hypertrophy means "enlargement" or "overgrowth." Both hypertrophic and keloid scars are associated with excessive amounts of the cell substance collagen. Overproduction of collagen is a response of skin cells to injury. The excess collagen becomes piled up in fibrous masses, resulting in a characteristic firm, smooth, usually irregularly-shaped scar. Keloids tend to "run in the family"—that is, there is a genetic predisposition to form keloids after tissue injury. African-Americans often have a predisposition to keloid formation. Some families also tend to form hypertrophic acne scars or thickened acne scars.

Acnezine, the natural medication for acne treatment serves a major role reducing such types of acne.

Acne Scars Resulting From Loss of TissuesAcne scars resulting from loss of tissue are more common than scars resulting from increased tissue formation. There are several types:Ice-pick acne scars get their name from their appearance. They may be superficial or deep, are usually small in diameter and have steep sides like an ice-pick wound. They may be hard or soft to the touch; the soft acne scars are usually more superficial and the hard scars deeper. The base of hard scars under the skin may be wider than the scar at the surface of the skin.Depressed fibrotic acne scars are usually large scars that have sharp margins and steep sides. They are similar in appearance to deep chicken pox scars.Superficial and deep soft acne scars are variable in size, and have sloping edges that merge with normal skin.

Follicular macular atrophy is more likely to occur on the chest or back of a person with acne. These are small, white, soft lesions, often barely raised above the surface of the skin—somewhat like whiteheads that didn’t fully develop. This condition is sometimes also called "perifollicular elastolysis." The lesions may persist for months to years.

There are many types of treatment to cure Acne. But Acnezine is a natural acne removal medication with no side effects!

For more information, Click Here:

Acne System receives 5 star rating

Acne Treatment Receives 5-Star Rating From TopConsumerReviews.com

Clearpores Skin Cleansing System, a three-part acne fighting treatment, receives a best-in-class 5-star rating from TopConsumerReviews.com.
Overland Park, KS (PRWEB) November 28, 2006 -- TopConsumerReviews.com (http://www.topconsumerreviews.com) recently awarded a five-star rating to Clearpores Skin Cleansing System, a three-part acne-fighting solution."We're proud to receive TopConsumerReviews.com's highest rating," said Doug Mackay, spokesperson for Clearpores. This innovative delivery system allows the user to easily adjust the strength of the active medications up or down, for maximum acne treatment while minimizing skin irritation, redness, dryness and discomfort.

Coeur d'Alene, ID (PRWeb) December 12, 2006 -- By some accounts more than half of all American men and women suffer with acne after age 25. Even by middle age, a full 12 percent of women and 3 percent of men experience clinically significant acne. Thirty-percent of its victims also meet the diagnostic criteria for depression, anxiety, and suicide risk. And, the effects can be lifelong for the third of all acne sufferers who experience permanent facial scarring. For those with acne, their biggest challenge is that most acne treatments, though powerful therapies, are irritating, and add fuel to the inflammatory fire already burning inside their acne-affected skin. The seemingly insurmountable challenge for skincare formulators has been to develop an effective acne treatment that works across a broad range of skin types.

The AcneRecovery system is based on the scientific premise that human skin is a very dynamic organ, constantly changing depending on a host of factors--personal health and hygiene, fluctuating hormones, surrounding environment, stress levels, et ceteraThis innovative delivery system allows the user to easily adjust the strength of the active medications up or down, for maximum acne treatment while minimizing skin irritation, redness, dryness and discomfort.

According to Dr. Randall Wilkinson, founder and current CEO of Trienelle Skincare, the company that developed AcneRecovery, "This approach to treatment finally presents to acne sufferers an effective way to control their outbreaks while minimizing the irritation and side effects associated with treatment." Wilkinson and his team at Trienelle are enthusiastic about the future.

Recently conducted studies support their enthusiasm. In early 2006, fifty four volunteers completed a 90-day AcneRecovery User Study to document, from the user's point of view, what it was like to use the world's first adjustable acne medication system. 48 percent of users reported significant improvement within the first 1-2 weeks. At the end of the 3-month study, 74 percent said the AcneRecovery system was more effective than any over-the-counter acne treatment they'd previously used.

The ability to adjust the potency of their acne treatment proved very popular. "I think the adjustability is good because acne is not always the same," said Michelle Conard, 36. "Some days my face looks almost clear and I use lower setting, some days I have flare ups and I put it on higher setting."For more information regarding AcneRecovery and their newly released adjustable acne therapy, visit their website, www.acnerecovery.com, to learn more.

Using Over the Counter Medication for Acne

Simple Solutions for Acne

If you deal with acne every day, you may be very frustrated when you look at all the products and solutions available for acne today. Many companies are coming out with these 'systems' to treat acne. They include a cleanser, toner and some sort of cream for direct application to the acne.

If you find one of these systems to treat your acne, you might just need to use one of the products included in the system. Then when you have used all of that product and need a new bottle, you end up having to buy the whole system again.

I have discovered this with several different systems.

So, instead of buying these systems for acne, maybe your best bet is any over the counter acne cream or gel. I have found that some products work just as well or even better than the products sold in the systems.

When in doubt, just try a small tube or bottle of basic acne treatment that you buy at the drugstore.

Green tea is good for......

Acne And Green Tea

By Elaine Clay

Green tea is used by the Chinese as a traditional medicine to treat many ailments including acne and to improve general well-being. But does it provide an effective herbal alternative to modern medication?

The answer seems to be ‘Yes’. There are only two herbal treatments that are known to be effective in treating acne and green tea is one of them.

In a recent study by Jennifer Gan-Wong, M.D. a green tea cream was trailed against a 4% benzoyl peroxide solution on people suffering with moderate to severe acne. The results from this research study showed that green tea was just as good in treating acne as the benzoyl peroxide.

But benzoyl peroxide dries out skin causing itching or allergic reactions. Unlike green tea that has the added advantages of natural anti-bacterial properties and antioxidants, particularly epigallocatechin gallate which is 200 times more powerful than vitamin E at fighting free radicals.

Green tea also helps to reduce inflammation, hormonal activity and aids in detoxification - which is all good news for acne sufferers.

Green tea extract is an extremely versatile herbal supplement - it can be administered topically, often being used in creams, taken as a in the form of a pill or incorporated into your diet and drunk as a tea.

This last method is very popular (Green Tea with Honeysuckle is often known as ‘Pimple Tea’ in many Chinatowns) when drunk after a meal it aids digestion and helps to detoxify your system, getting rid of the toxins that can cause acne. Tip: don’t drink it with sugar, this will neutralize the worthwhile effects of the tea.

It seems that taking green tea for acne is a win-win situation… It has many beneficial properties which promote good all-round health with little or no known side effects and for the price, green tea it’s definitely a herbal treatment that’s worth trying.

About the Author: Elaine Clay is the owner of Acne Treatments Online.com ::Info and articles to help you find effective acne solutions to treat and get rid of your condition safely and naturally
Feel free to use this article - provided it is published in it’s entirety, with my resource box and a “live” clickable link to: http://www.acne-treatments-online.com

Source: www.isnare.com

Using natural treatments to treat acne

Acne Treatment Using Aromatherapy
By Sharon Hopkins

Acne is something that every one of us has probably faced during the onset of puberty. However, in the case of an unlucky few, this condition persists well into adulthood. Left untreated, severe acne can lead to disfiguring scarring; this can then lead to decreased self-esteem, social withdrawal and even depression.

What causes acne?
Acne is caused primarily due to the blockages of pores on the skin. These blockages stop the oil (sebum) from draining to the surface of the skin. Bacteria grow in these blockages, which lead to an infectious inflammation of that area; this is known as acne. Several factors contribute to the development of acne. These may include hormones, diet, evolutionary biology, vitamin deficiency, and stress, among others.

What can I do to cure my acne?
There are a number of remedies for acne available in the market. However, since the causes of acne are so myriad, not every type of treatment works for every individual. It is usually through a system of trial and error that the appropriate remedy is found, especially in the more severe cases of acne. The problem with some of the new systems of treatment is that if they don’t work, they may actually exacerbate the symptoms of this infection. This is why people are looking more and more towards more natural and organic remedies for acne as a starting point.

Aromatherapy treatment for acne
Aromatherapy has had a reputation as a natural treatment for acne for many years. Of the aromatherapy oils, tea tree is probably the best-known as an acne remedy, though other oils such as lavender have been anecdotally reported effective. The advantantage with using essential oils such as tea tree for treatment is that these oils are a natural organic cosmetic. Thus, there are no side effects to this kind of treatment.

What is tea tree oil?
Tea tree oil is an essential oil obtained from the Melaleuca tree of Australia. Tea tree has anti-septic and anti-fungal properties. Before the advent of modern medicine, this oil was an essential part of the First-Aid kits of the Australian army.

How do I use it?
Tea tree oil should be applied on the skin and never taken internally. For treating acne, mix tea tree oil with aloe vera gel in the ratio of five per cent tea tree oil to ninety five percent aloe vera gel. Apply this solution to clean skin.

What are other aromatherapy treatments for acne?
Several other aromatherapy remedies have been shown to inhibit the growth of acne causing bacteria. Some of the popular essential oils used for acne treatment are Jasmine, Lavender, Myrrh, Palma Rosa, Sandalwood and Ylang Ylang.

What are natural, organic cosmetics?
A further contributor to the increase of acne and skin diseases among our generation is the increased proliferation and usage of skin care products. Many of these products contain harmful chemicals that adversely affect the skin and result in irritation of the skin and acne. Natural, organic cosmetics contain fully natural ingredients including essential aromatherapy oils such as tea tree. The use of these cosmetics helps our skin retain its balance and stay healthy. Healthy skin is better able to combat and withstand skin infections, such as acne and eczema.

About the Author: Sharon Hopkins manages sites related to Aromatherapy. and natural healing therapies in alternative medicine such as Massage Therapy, Yoga and many other health sites.
Source: www.isnare.com

Diet and Acne. Choose A Diet To Suit You

By Luke Cameron

Is your skin healthy lately? Or are you being plagued by thathorrible skin affliction called acne? If you answer “yes” tothe latter question, then you have a serious problem. Chancesare you have already tried several different methods to treatyour acne. You go to dermatologists to get prescriptions, ask friends what products they use, go to the drugstore to get the latest over-the-counter medication advertised on television, call the hotline number for the newest breakthrough featured in the infomercial you saw last night.

But then none of them only seem to produce less than satisfactory results or none at all! Here’s another question for you. What have you been eating lately? Has the idea of acne diets ever crossed your mind?

Are you eating healthy? A proper diet greatly contributes to having healthier skin. Even better, acne diets will help lessen breakouts and keep your skin soft, smooth and supple. Can you recall a simple concept called “garbage in, garbage out”?

This is how acne diets operate. Always remember that what you eat has an effect not just on your body’s physical strength, but your appearance as well. The very simple habit of drinking eight glasses of water a day helps a lot in flushing out toxins from your body. People who do not make a habit of drinking enough water every day suffer from skin dryness, pimple and other forms of skin ailments.

Vegetables are high sources of fiber. Fiber-enriched acne diets also help in cleaning the body on the inside. Fruits are also sources of fiber. Apart from that they are rich in vitamins. What the skin needs most are vitamins A, C and E. These are highly present in citrus fruits. Fruits secrete enzymes that help fight acne. The vitamins present in fruits keep the skin soft and radiant looking.

Acne diets are very easy to follow. Water, vegetables and fruits are the keys to keeping an acne-free skin. Keeping tabs on the contents or ingredients of every meal is a step closer to having beautiful skin. Here are a few more tips – adequate rest, regular exercise and an overall healthy lifestyle can transform you in ways you never imagined possible. You are healthy, you look good and you have your confidence back.Remember, what’s inside can be reflected outside.

About the Author: Luke Cameron is owner of Beauty Care Inc. -an online magazine offering news, tips and articles on beautyrelated topics. Scalp acne is not as common as some of the other types of acne such as facial acne but it is still very distressing for the sufferer. Although it is concealed to a certain extent it can be more obvious when it is at the edge of the hair.

Some types of scalp acne can be quite mild and many people will go to the pharmacist and buy something to use themselves for this. Although it is possible to have a very mild type of scalp acne, there are also more severe types that require treatment on a more professional basis. If you are at all worried about your scalp acne or if it is irritating then it is best to see a dermatologist. They can help you to choose the best way of treating it so that you do not suffer from too much itchiness.

Scalp acne can be just as irritating as any other type of acne to the sufferer and it can easily be made worse by using the wrong type of hair products. It is always best to ask the pharmacies for a recommendation before buying any hair care products if you think that you might have scalp acne. It is important to make sure that the hair is kept clean because too much oil on the scalp can also be bad for this type of acne.

One change that you can make yourself is to make sure that your diet is good. Generally this simple looking disease, which arrives so casually and unexpectedly, has clear cut intentions about your body. Any part could be its playground. It is capable of leaving cuts, scars and marks on the skin, if not controlled and properly treated, well in time. So, be highly alert, if you observe a swelling in your skin. Never try to experiment with it, arguing, 'after all, it is my skin.' Do not pop it.

Acne, whose scientific name is acne vulgaris, claims a fairshare of adults, under its net. Adults have a wrong notion that it is the teenager's malady only. It is not so. The prime reason of its occurrence, as quoted by Acne scientists and researchers,is that the skin pores get clogged causing the accumulation of fatty material from the oil gland or sebaceous gland.

Do all the pores get affected by acne? No!

Why? The reason is not known. Scientists and the researchers are on the job. Much is said and written on the subject of acne. But they are as unreliable as the myth- mongers. Only they claim their scientific right to revise their earlier 'unassailable scientific findings', which become their new truth. Remember, someone else is busy in another laboratory, to negate the former version about acne. The difference between the researchers and the myth-mongers is that the former get paid for their findings, whether assertion or denial, and the later are left high and dry.
So, you have to take a practical view about your acne, and take certain basic precautions, once you feel signals of its arrival. Try to identify first, whether you have blackheads or whiteheads. Observe and experiment with judicious approach and common sense, when it comes to treatment. It differs from person to person.

The habit of popping up the acne, is certain invitation to thescars. Know whether your acne is inflammatory or non-inflammatory. The later ones are difficult to identify, and here you need to consult the dermatologist, without taking any chances with the standard over-the-counter medicines.

Caution is better than inviting complications. Rememberer, you have to rebuild the skin broken by acne. Your selection of diet, the line of treatment and above all, your patience is going to be tested.

About the Author: Ogla Sen writes about a number of differenttopics. Orange County laser dermatologist Nissan Pilest plays the trump card when battling resistant and severe cystic acne by using a combination of Photo Dynamic Therapy, Vbeam and Fraxel Laser.

Orange County, CA (PRWEB) July 18, 2006 -- Severe Acne requires hard-hitting treatment. Orange County laser dermatologist Nissan Pilest plays the trump card when battling resistant and severe cystic acne by using a combination of Photo Dynamic Therapy, Vbeam and Fraxel Laser. The following case study is one of Dr. Pilest's success stories:When Erik was 12, he started getting pimples. His mom bought antibacterial soap, a scrub pad and some benzoyl peroxide lotion. He religiously scrubbed his face three times a day. Things only got worse. By the time Erik arrived at the office of Orange County Dermatologist Nissan Pilest, the 15 year-old was in big trouble with his skin.

The physician recalled, "His face and neck were covered with extremely painful cysts, pus-filled pimples and angry red acne scars. Acne punished not just his face, but his back and shoulders, too. It was a summer day and he wore a turtle neck sweater and a baseball cap pulled low over his eyes."You could see that the pain of his skin was nothing compared to the pain in his soul. He was distraught, angry and visibly fought to hold back the tears."When Erik came in that first day, he scowled at everyone, mumbled that it was his mother's idea and complained that he didn't have any reason to be there, "since nothing's going to work anyway."

Dr. Pilest told Erik he was delighted to have him in the office because he could see the future. He promised Erik that he would " look definitively different in a matter of weeks."Erik's acne was in the 'severe' class - resistant to topical products, extremely sensitive, and impervious to previous attempts to control the problem. Erik had seen another doctor early on in his bout with acne and had been prescribed antibiotics. Like most teens, he took them sometimes, sometimes he "forgot" and eventually he decided they didn't make enough difference for him to take them at all.

He believed his acne was incurable. His grades were dropping, he was becoming a loner and his mother was, as she called it, at her wit's end...and scared for her son's well-being.The first treatment Erik was given was a newer procedure called Photo Dynamic Therapy (PDT) He needed a heavy hit and he needed it right away.Dr. Pilest noted that this treatment is always performed in a medical office.

The skin is prepped with a degreasing cleanser and a topical solution that has light-triggered action (called Levulan) is applied to any area that has acne present. After letting the Levulan penetrate the skin, a special light is used to start the solution's action. Basically it begins a "seek and destroy" mission, by both killing the acne bacteria that is housed deep in the skin and shrinking the sebaceous glands; these glands produce sebum - the food source for acne bacteria.

It's not a completely painless procedure. Some people describe it as burning or stinging or a hot sensation. But it's generally not nearly as painful as trying to squeeze an acne cyst -- something most everyone with bad acne is prone to do. The skin gets red, peels and for a couple of days the majority of PDT patients hide out.

But the improvement is dramatic and quick.PDT was the pivot point in Erik's out-of-control acne. In a matter of weeks he was actually looking forward to going to the office. His skin was in the process of making big improvement. So was his attitude. The funny guy who had been trapped behind that angry acne was coming out of hiding and the entire office stall said they looked forward to his visits as much as he did.Dr. Pilest followed the PDT with Clearlight treatments, an RX topical twice a day and a special cleanser.

Erik was advised to stop using hair wax that was causing extra little breakouts on his forehead and forbidden to use scrub pads Once the acne was under control he had a short series of Vbeam laser treatments to take the red out of his scars.Dr. Pilest reminded us, "Managing acne is serious business. Acne is not nice. It will take advantage of lapses in your prescribed routine. If you forget or get a little lazy, your acne is not going to give you a break.

A home treatment plan of acne products, some of which are prescription, is required as part of your plan to keep your skin clear. If you break the rules, the only one to suffer is you."Erik is on a program today that includes maintenance Clearlight sessions, his prescribed daily skin care routine and plenty of water instead of sodas or milk. Sometime soon Dr. Pilest will begin smoothing Erik's scars with Fraxel laser.

He shared, "Acne ravaged Erik's skin and despite the technology at hand, it will be impractical to think he will have perfect looking skin. Yet the changes on all levels would have been impossible even a few years ago."Erik is 16 now, has a girlfriend, and this past year joined a speech team at his high school that puts him on stage. He was in the doctor's last week. He showed Dr. Pilest a picture of his new girl and as he settled in for his Clearlight, he shook his hand and said, "Thanks, doc. I can't believe how different my life is now."

The doctor responsible for Erik's new view on life beamed as he said, "This is what I go to work for."Dr. Nissan Pilest is a well-known laser specialist in Orange County, Ca. He has had special interest in resistant acne and acne scarring for much of his 27 year career as a corrective and cosmetic dermatologist. His practice, Total Dermatology, is in the Sand Canyon Medical Center in Irvine. A board certified Dermatologist, Dr. Pilest is also an associate professor at the University of California Irvine. It is caused by changes in the pilosebaceous. The most common form of acne is known as "acne vulgaris", which means "common acne". The hair folicles are blocked by the combination of oils and dead skin cells. Comedones, papules, pustules, nodules and inflammatory cysts are the different types of acne lesions. They are mainly caused on the face, chest, back, shoulders and upper arms. These acne lesions are inflamed form of pus-filled reddish bumps that appear mainly during adolescence.

There are various factors causing acne. Some of them are the hormonal activities like the menstrual cycle and increased output of hormones from the adrenal glands. Accumulation ofdead skin cells, bacteria in the pores, skin irritation or scratching, use of antibiotic steroids, use of medication containing halogens, lithium, barbiturates or androgens, and exposure to high levels of chlorine compounds can also cause acne.

Ace treatments can be done with the help of benzoyl peroxide, proactive solution, antibiotics, tretinion, isotretinion, contraceptive pills, salicylic acid, adapalene, laser treatment, blue light treatment and herbal remedies. 90% ofadolescents have acne. Acne can be treated in various ways. Exfoliating the skin, using topical bactericidals, topicalantibiotics, oral antibiotics, hormonal treatment, externalretinoids, oral retinoids, and phototherapy are some of themethods of treating acne. The non inflammatory acne can betreated with azelaic, salicytic acid, topical retinoids andbenzoyl peroxide. The mild inflammatory acne can be treated with topical antibiotics. Isotretinion and topical retinoidsare used to treat moderate inflammatory acne. Contraceptivepills with cyproterone can be used by females with virilization to treat severe inflammatory acne.

Acne often leaves a scar behind. There are various scar treatments to remove the mark –

·Dermabrasion – A high-speed rotary wire brush ordiamond-coated fraise is used to remove the top layer of the skin to make the scar look less pitted. This is done by a cosmetic surgeon.

·Microdermabrasion – It involves blasting tiny crystals at the skin and rubbing the skin with a rough tool.

·Laser resurfacing – The top layer of the skin is burned off by a laser.

·Punch excision – A punch tool is used, with the help of which the scar is excised, and the edges are sutured together.

·Chemical peels – Glycolic, salicylic, or lactic are applied to the skin to get a smoother layer in an acid peel.

·Subcision – A deep pool of blood is created under the scar by detaching the scar from deeper tissue. This blood helps form a connective tissue under the scar, thus levelling it with the surface.

·Dermal filler – An injectable filler is used to fill up thescar.

Mantaining a good hygeine with proper diet and medications helpto reduce the occurance of acne, thus boosting your confidence level and self esteem.

About the Author: Barney Garcia writes about many differenttopics. When I was a teen-ager and had acne, I would try some over the counter products for acne. None of these products really worked for me. I don't know if they worked for anyone else, but I was very frustrated.

So, I ventured off to the dermatologists to get various prescriptions for my acne problem. Everything of course (even back then) was very expensive and ended up working after a period of time.

When my teenage son started to get acne on his face, I immediately assumed that no over the counter treatments would really look. I began searching for a local dermatologists and proceeded to make an appointment.

Then, one day I was at the store and I saw one of the very popular acne treatments --I believe it was Clearsil--on sale. I had looked at all the various over the counter treatments--not wanting to pay money for something I didn't know would work. But the Clearsil was only $5 on sale. So, I thought, what the heck I will try it out.

And to my surprise, this product has not only cleared up my son's forehead acne, but it cleared up a few blemishes that I had on my forehead. I am very impressed.

So, maybe if you are experiencing acne, the solution is looking at you in the acne product section at your local store. Try some of these products out before you venture off to the dermatologist and spend tons of money.

Acne and various treatments

Acne and Treatments

There are many solutions to acne available today. Some are prescriptions, medications, ointments and even natural remedies. Below is a story by author Bruce Walls about issues that acne has caused over the years.

By Bruce Walls

Acne is a common problem that many teenagers face. It can be very embarrassing and soul destroying for many teenagers who are at a very delicate and self-concious age in their lives. With the many pressures that they face, teenage acne can be an added problem that interferes with a young person’s self esteem and confidence. For some of us, acne was not much of a concern throughout our youth and we do not understand the trials and tribulations that young sufferers go through. My sister did suffer and had to use acne treatment as a teenager.

I was one of the lucky, clear-skinned teenage girls in my school. I never had to use any acne medication or topical acne treatment. I did get the occasional pimple and strangely, I always had the pimples right before a special event. The blemish usually appeared right on the center of my nose or right in the middle of my forehead. The blemish would appear, right on cue, on the morning of a special event. For those suffering from teenage acne and acne breakouts then it was even worse as the anxiety before an important event was bound to herald a breakout right at the worst time.

My acne cursed sister had a breakout right before the Junior Miss Pageant and I think that this may have contributed to her not making the final ten when I did. It may have been the fact that she was five-two, a little plump and a little clumsy, but she likes to think that the acne was the cause of the Junior Miss elimination. Looking back now, it is fair to assume, that the breakout occurred because she was under stress. The blemish disappeared shortly after the pageant was over and finished for that year.

My sister didn't appear to be the least bit nervous before her prom, but suddenly, there it was. She had an acne breakout on the eve of the prom. Covering it up with makeup only made it worse. She tried not to let the breakout spoil her night, but of course it did, although she had a good sense of humor about it. She did put her gown back on a week later to get pictures taken and I dressed up to have pictures taken with her. It's only us who know that the date on the photographs is not the real prom date! Acne or no acne, she still had a great time. I realise how lucky I was not suffering from teenage acne.

Today, my sister finds herself in a new situation when it comes to unsightly acne blemishes. She, and I, are approaching middle age and use moisturizer. We are a long way past the teenage acne years. What she is finding is that her skin tends to be a bit oily and she is having mild acne breakouts after moisturizing her face. She is very irritated that she needs to combat wrinkles and acne at the same time. It is a pity that anti wrinkles cream and acne products aren't combined. One of the things to look forward to as you get older is the absence of acne. I guess she still have a lot of growing up to do.

Bruce Walls is a writer and webmaster at http://www.a1-acne.com

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Bruce_Walls
